Pro AV Solutions strengthens environmental management with ISO 14001 certification

Pro AV Solutions has achieved ISO 14001 certification, strengthening the company’s environmental management framework across its Australian operations.
The certification marks a key milestone in Pro AV Solutions’ ESG roadmap and coincides with World Environment Day on 5 June. It also reflects the growing importance of structured environmental management in audiovisual integration, workplace technology delivery and long-term customer support.
ISO 14001 is the international standard for environmental management systems. Standards Australia describes AS/NZS ISO 14001:2016 as a structured framework for organisations looking to improve environmental management and operational efficiency.
For Pro AV Solutions, the certification provides a formal framework to manage environmental responsibilities more consistently across the way the business plans, delivers, supports and manages workplace technology projects.
A milestone in Pro AV Solutions’ ESG roadmap
The achievement of ISO 14001 certification follows a wider review and refresh of Pro AV Solutions’ Environmental Management System. The system is integrated with Pro AV Solutions’ existing ISO 9001 Quality and ISO 45001 Health and Safety management systems, supporting a coordinated approach to risk management, compliance and continuous improvement.
This gives the business a stronger platform to manage environmental considerations across operations, procurement, logistics, project delivery, support and lifecycle planning.
Why environmental management matters in workplace technology
Environmental performance is becoming a more important consideration for Australian organisations, particularly across government, education, healthcare, enterprise, defence and corporate real estate environments.
Customers are increasingly expected to consider how buildings are designed, operated, maintained and upgraded. In Australia, the commercial building sector is responsible for around 25% of overall electricity use and 10% of total carbon emissions.
Frameworks such as NABERS help organisations measure and compare the environmental performance of Australian buildings, tenancies and homes. These frameworks reflect a broader shift towards operational performance, evidence-based reporting and better long-term asset management.
AV and workplace technology sit within this context. Meeting rooms, collaboration spaces, digital signage, control rooms, lecture theatres, healthcare environments and managed technology platforms all involve equipment, energy use, logistics, maintenance, support and end-of-life planning.
For customers, supplier environmental management is increasingly relevant to procurement, governance and risk. It provides a clearer view of how technology partners manage their own responsibilities and how they support more structured project delivery.
Practical environmental initiatives already underway
Alongside ISO 14001 certification and emissions readiness, Pro AV Solutions has already progressed several environmental initiatives across its operations.
The company has invested in onsite solar generation across multiple facilities, with systems installed at sites in Queensland, Victoria and Western Australia. Its Queensland operations are supported by more than 160 solar panels, delivering up to 90% renewable energy for the site and producing around 134 MWh of clean energy each year.
Pro AV Solutions has also commenced a staged transition of its fleet to electric vehicles, supported by planned investment in EV charging infrastructure at multiple company locations. The transition is aligned to vehicle replacement cycles and operational requirements, with an estimated full transition to an EV fleet by 2030.
Waste and resource management are also part of the company’s environmental management approach. Pro AV Solutions has implemented recycling and waste management procedures, including specific provisions for electronic waste, supplier engagement and procurement controls to encourage responsible packaging, disposal and material recovery where practicable.
What this means for our customers
For customers, ISO 14001 certification provides an additional layer of supplier confidence.
This is particularly relevant for organisations with formal procurement requirements, sustainability criteria, supplier governance processes or environmental reporting expectations.
For AV and workplace technology projects, this matters because environmental considerations are connected to many practical decisions. These include room standards, equipment selection, energy-conscious operation, asset documentation, support models, maintenance, upgrade paths and end-of-life planning.
Supporting more responsible workplace technology decisions
AV technology does not make a building sustainable by itself. It is one layer within a broader approach to building performance, workplace planning and operational management.
When planned and supported properly, workplace technology can help customers understand how spaces are used, manage rooms more consistently, support hybrid collaboration, monitor technology performance and make more informed lifecycle decisions.
ISO 14001 certification strengthens Pro AV Solutions’ ability to support these conversations with a clearer environmental management framework behind its operations.
