Dicolor Introduces Sliding LED Wall for Flexible, Divisible Spaces

Dicolor Australia has introduced a new Sliding LED Wall solution designed to solve a common challenge in multipurpose spaces: how to deliver a high-quality display experience when one large room needs to function as two separate spaces.
Developed and engineered in Australia, the system combines two COB LED displays on a motorised ceiling track, allowing them to operate as one seamless 32:9 screen or two independent 16:9 displays.
The result is a flexible approach to visual technology for conference venues, corporate workplaces, education facilities and other environments where room configurations regularly change.
One Display, Two Room Configurations
Traditional AV installations in divisible spaces often require compromises. A single large screen may work well when the room is open but become impractical when partition walls are closed. Alternatively, installing separate displays can limit the visual experience when the space is combined.
Dicolor's Sliding LED Wall addresses both scenarios through a movable display system.
When the partition is open, the two LED panels come together to create one continuous 32:9 display, providing an ultra-wide canvas for presentations, conferences and large-scale visual content.
When the room is divided, the screens move along the concealed ceiling track into their respective spaces, functioning independently as two 16:9 displays, each capable of showing different content.
The motorised movement is operated through the room's control panel, allowing the display configuration to change in a matter of seconds.
High-Resolution COB LED Technology
The Sliding LED Wall incorporates Dicolor's HC Series Chip-on-Board (COB) technology, with pixel pitch options ranging from 0.6 mm to 1.8 mm.
This provides the flexibility to accommodate different room sizes, viewing distances and resolution requirements.
The system also incorporates several features designed for professional AV installations:
- Motorised ceiling track: Allows the displays to move between combined and divided configurations.
- Flexible display formats: Supports one 32:9 canvas or two independent 16:9 screens.
- Front-access maintenance: Enables servicing without requiring rear access to the displays.
- Redundant infrastructure: Includes backup power and data connections to support system reliability.
- Integrated control: Uses Novastar H5 processing and room control integration.
For reference, one project configuration features a combined display measuring six metres wide and approximately 1.69 metres high, which separates into two three-metre-wide screens.
Designed for Multipurpose Environments
The Sliding LED Wall is particularly relevant to spaces where flexibility is essential, including:
- Conference centres and hotel ballrooms, where spaces are regularly divided to accommodate different events.
- Corporate workplaces, supporting larger presentations and smaller independent meetings.
- Universities and training facilities, where lecture theatres and teaching spaces need to adapt to changing requirements.
- Hospitality and event venues, where display configurations must accommodate different audience sizes and layouts.
By allowing the display system to adapt to the room, organisations can maintain a consistent visual experience across multiple configurations without relying on separate fixed display arrangements.
Rethinking AV Integration in Flexible Spaces
Dicolor's Sliding LED Wall highlights a broader shift in professional AV design: technology is increasingly being integrated into the way buildings and spaces function, rather than simply being installed within them.
The solution requires consideration of the room's architecture, structural requirements, display movement, cabling and control systems during the design process.
For organisations planning new multipurpose spaces or upgrading existing divisible rooms, it introduces an alternative to traditional fixed LED walls and large-format displays.
Dicolor confirms that the solution has already been installed in Australian projects, demonstrating its application beyond the design concept.
