Pro AV Solutions has launched a new Women in AV platform, reinforcing its commitment to building a more inclusive audiovisual industry and strengthening career pathways through its Institute of AV Technology training program. The new landing page features stories from women across the business - leadership, technical and operational roles - designed to inspire more women to explore careers in the AV sector and better understand the diversity of opportunities available.

Latest workforce data shows that across Australian STEM and technology fields, women represent approximately 28 to 32 percent of the workforce, with lower representation in technical and engineering roles. This highlights the need for clearer, more visible pathways into these industries.

The initiative connects storytelling with structured training pathways delivered through the Institute of AV Technology, which provides nationally recognised qualifications combined with practical, on-site experience across engineering, installation and project delivery roles.

Kylee Naglost, CEO of Pro AV Solutions, said the focus is on long-term change rather than a single campaign moment.

I began my career in the AV industry in 1987, at a time when diversity, particularly gender diversity, was barely visible. Over the years, I’ve seen the industry evolve and grow into a space where collaboration, capability and contribution matter more than titles or stereotypes. When inclusion becomes part of everyday culture rather than a statement, it strengthens how we innovate, how we work, and how we create a path forward that is wider and more accessible for the next generation.

The platform also highlights perspectives from across the organisation, including business support and technical roles.

Ashu Bhatia, Administration Assistant, said her experience in the industry has been both challenging and rewarding.

My experience in the AV industry has been fun, challenging and incredibly rewarding. Every day feels different, and there is always something new to learn. One of the things I value most about AV is how it brings people together. Collaboration and flexibility create an environment where everyone can contribute in their own way.

From a technical perspective, Anna Aubusson, Solution Architect, spoke about the depth and creativity of the industry.

I found my way into the AV industry in 2011 and quickly realised it was the perfect mix of technical problem-solving and creative design. What keeps me here is the variety - every space is different, every client has a new challenge, and there’s always a smarter way to design something.

International Women’s Day, recognised globally each March, provides a timely opportunity to reflect on the importance of inclusivity and visible career pathways across technical industries. By combining structured training through the Institute of AV Technology with real career stories, Pro AV Solutions aims to contribute to a more inclusive and capable AV workforce.
