Case Study – KPMG

Canberra Office.

THE BRIEF

The design and integration of KPMG Canberra’s office refurbishment was a smaller replication of the projects we delivered around the country for KPMG. The existing sites included Tower 3 at Barangaroo, Sydney. The client’s scope was to design and simply transform each of the spaces so they matched the already functional spaces in Sydney, Adelaide and Melbourne.

The uplift in the KPMG Canberra office was to follow the National technology standard we had developed with KPMG as their previous technology solution wasn’t functioning and was different State by State which had been causing problems for conferencing.

THE SOLUTION

The client wanted the same scaled system that was familiar to them and easy to use. The client still wanted to have control over the systems and how they behaved but wanted the system to remain as flexible and intuitive for their users to avoid poor user experience. All rooms were to be responsive and quick, with plug and play available to all users. All collaborative areas now include BYOD functionality so staff can connect with their own devices. Room booking panels were installed outside meeting rooms so it’s clear when a room is in use.

To deliver this solution, we partnered with AMX for all control, Samsung for the display solution and Polycom for all video conferencing. The refresh included the main boardroom, a large joinable conference room, a multi-function projector room, a partners meeting lounge, a flexible display trolley that could be moved between spaces and digital signage.

The feature room was the large corporate boardroom. The room is now configured like a traditional boardroom with two large format displays and a camera in centre so even audience at the back of the room can see the screen clearly and can be seen by callers on the other end. Innovative ceiling mics were installed so audio is clear on every call. The room is fully controllable through the AMX touch panel control not just the technology in the room but the lights and blinds as well.

The more complex space was the multi function projector room, predominantly used for training or town hall meetings. With three motorised Epson projectors that are lifted and three 310” motorised screens, anyone in the room can clearly see what is being displayed. The solution also allows the clients to use one or two projectors at a time if there is a smaller audience. The client also has the option to open this room up and use all three projectors for larger presentations.

THE RESULTS

KPMG Canberra defines the workplace of the future. The design of the office space was methodically planned and designed with staff and clients in mind, creating an environment that better reflects their lifestyle.

The complex and detailed audio visual systems met the brief of the client as they are simple to interact with, allow for ease of operation, and follow the scalable standard that KPMG offices around the country now follow.

“The quality of service was extremely helpful. The team was friendly and provided any information when asked and came to help instantly when issues were occurring. I was very happy with the [Pro AV Solutions] team who made sure that everything was going according to schedule.”

John Bawalan, Audio Visual & Video Conferencing Specialist, KPMG Canberra.
