Case Study – Scotch College – Purruna Spencer Newton Centre

THE PROJECT
Purruna Spencer Newton Centre, Scotch College, has been built on the principle of surpassing sustainable design in favour of regenerative design thinking. This newly built $27m Wellbeing and Sports Centre is part of one of South Australia’s most prestigious private schools, renowned for delivering superlative learning and sporting environments for its students.
Scotch College required a complete design and construct of audio-visual technologies within the school’s new Wellbeing and Sports Centre. Considering that the building has been architecturally designed with a minimal look and feel, the audio-visual solutions installed not only had to be innovative, responsive, and functional but also had to match aesthetically and leave a minimal footprint overall.
Pro AV Solutions was engaged to design and integrate high-quality, reliable, and seamless AV solutions that matched the ethos of the building. We engaged with the head contractor Badge Construction to deliver the outcomes Scotch College were seeking as part of an integrated construction program.

Our engineering team produced functional designs for each space that provided a technology system for each of these spaces that provided the features the customer needed, with complete reliability and ease-of-use in mind.
KEY TECHNOLOGIES
Auditorium and LED Media Wall
One of the most impressive spaces in the facility is the auditorium, showcasing the incredible DiColor LED Media Wall –
- Huge 5m wide and 3m high display.
- Stunning Full HD image quality.
- Optimized for all natural lighting conditions.
The LED Media Wall has been installed as part of a flexible AV system in the space, allowing for simple operation of high-quality presentations and events.
Digital Signage & Visual Communications
The facility now has a range of displays in various locations, with a simple, cloud-based digital signage platform from Vivi that allows them to easily schedule and update content on any screen with ease.
Both landscape and portrait Samsung signage displays were used as well as leveraging the interactive displays and LED media wall.
Interactive Displays
Commbox Interactive Displays in classroom and meeting spaces across the facility allow for active learning and collaboration, from simple digital whiteboarding sessions to advanced video annotation for coaching and human movement classes.
Wireless Presentation
Vivi wireless presentation devices have also been installed to facilitate collaborative learning, and content display when no user is broadcast directly, through the digital signage platform.
