Taronga Zoo Sydney officially opened in 1916. Since then, the Zoo has gone from a place of entertainment to a mature conservation and Education hub, to share the story of healthy ecosystems, habitats, wildlife and communities across the Globe.
The Institute of Science and Learning at Taronga Zoo required a new campus to be built, with the primary
objective of providing facilities for students to attend various classes and seminars hosted by the Zoo.
Along with a close construction partner Taylor Constructions, Pro AV Solutions were awarded the contract for the project and provided our design and construct consultancy services.
The key benefits provided to the client was engaging with Pro AV from early in the project whilst still in the design phase, enabling the integration partner to assist in specifying the most suitable technology, which is “fit for purpose” and proven in real world applications on a day to day basis.
The objective was to partner with a technology provider with the skill set and experience to be able to deliver a cost effective yet robust technology solution, on time and under budget.
Pro AV attended design meetings with the end user and gathered the requirements for the project, with the technology provided being the tool which enables an interactive learning environment, with world class facilities.
This included providing technology solutions in multiple teaching and learning spaces, a Microscope Room, Food Enrichment Room, Lecture Theatre and Digital Production Room. We also incorporated various meeting rooms, with some spaces including video conferencing capabilities.
