The Health and Medical Research Building at Flinders University is a major investment in cutting-edge medical research facility. Across eight levels and 63 rooms, Pro AV Solutions delivered a future-ready AV ecosystem that enhances research, supports global collaboration, and streamlines digital content creation and supports university’s requirements.
Pro AV Solutions worked closely with Nilsen Electrical, Hansen Yuncken, and Flinders University to design, install, and integrate a scalable AV ecosystem across seminar rooms, meeting rooms, research spaces, and a fully equipped recording studio.
One of the primary challenges was ensuring a consistent user experience across a variety of environments, each with different functional requirements, from seminar rooms to collaborative research hubs. Our team developed a standardised user interface across all systems, reducing complexity and ensuring staff and students could confidently use any space. This infrastructure includes UC conferencing bars deployed in 44 collaboration spaces and is supported by room booking panels across 60 rooms for easy scheduling and access.
As a high-profile construction project, coordination with the builder, electrical contractor, and university IT team was crucial to delivering systems that not only met technical requirements but also aligned with broader construction and IT infrastructure plans. This collaborative approach ensured all AV systems were fully commissioned and operational upon handover, including over 40 AVoiP endpoints supporting AV over IP distribution throughout the facility.
