Case Study – Attorney-General’s Department GPO Exchange Project



Pro AV Solutions recently completed the new Attorney-General’s Department GPO Exchange Project in Adelaide. The tower itself comprises 20 levels of A-grade commercial office spaces, a new ground floor foyer highlighting features of the GPO Exchange Building, and a retail precinct.

The Attorney-General’s Department relocated to the newly constructed offices within the GPO Exchange Building, with varying departments using a combination of open plan workstations and offices. With over 100 spaces involved in this fit-out, the team had to work quickly to meet the timeline of this project without causing delays to the departments move-in date.

As a Microsoft Teams house, it was important that all huddle rooms, meeting rooms and boardrooms be Team enabled. One of the key goals was to make sure the technology was standardised and intuitive so the end users would find each room easy to set up and a similar experience no matter what space they were in. As a premium Microsoft Teams certified product, Crestron Flex was rolled out in each space. This solution meant we were able to provide a consistent Microsoft user experience from desktop to meeting room, all while delivering exceptional audio and video quality.

End users can activate calls, presentations and videoconferencing calls all via the touch panel in each space.

Room booking panels are directly outside each space showing the availability of the rooms.

All integrated with the Microsoft suite, these rooms can be easily booked by staff either by sending an email invitation or walking up to the room booking panel and booking ad-hoc. As a high performance, technology-focused and enabled building, quality and reliability was a core focus. High-quality commercial grade Sony displays were installed in all meeting spaces for bright, crystal clear visuals. For larger meeting rooms, Saros ceiling speakers were incorporated with Biamp beam-tracking microphones so audio was not a compromise for critical meetings.
