Ian Ward graduated from North Nottinghamshire College in 1981 with a Certificate in Electrical Engineering. While studying, Ian was also working as a Trainee Electronics Technician at Conlec Electronic Controls.
After completing his course in England, Ian moved to Australia to work for AAV Australia. AAV Australia was instrumental in the early years of Australian video editing and broadcasting. While Ian was an employee, AAV Australia achieved a number of Australian milestones: in 1985, they produced the first High Definition TV program in Australia, in association with Sony Japan.
In 1982, Ian graduated from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT) with a Broadcast Operator Certificate of Proficiency. And in 1984, he completed an Electronics Mechanic Certificate in Communications, also at RMIT.
In 1985, Ian took on a dual position at ProImage as the Assistant Chief Engineer and Broadcast AV Engineer. ProImage provided large-scale, integrated network server platforms to clients in communication and technology based industries. While there, Ian also completed his Television Operator's Certificate of Proficiency at RMIT.
Ian left ProImage in 1988 to start his own business, IBSAV. IBSAV quickly grew to become a leading AV integrator in Victoria. Under Ian’s leadership as Managing Director, IBSAV won many high-profile contracts for clients such as La Trobe University and The Royal Children’s Hospital. Many of these projects were nationally recognised with awards from both AMX and Integrate.
In August 2012, IBSAV, along with the rest of the Navigate Group, united under the banner of Pro AV Solutions. Now a truly national company, Pro AV Solutions encompasses five capital city locations. With the combined strength of hundreds of professionals sharing the same passion, culture and vision to innovate, Pro AV Solutions is uniquely capable of offering solutions that capture the imagination and exceed our clients’ expectations.
